May 1st Final 4-H Enrollment Deadline

Goshen County 4-H members may add and drop projects until May 1st. Adding and dropping projects in 4-H Online can only happen by working with the Extension Office or your 4-H Club Leader. A $10 fee will be charged to add projects but dropping 4-H projects is free.

On May 1st of this year all projects will be final and members are expected to demonstrate something learned in their project through a sharing experience and have appropriate records in their Record Book. A sharing experience can be a club demonstration, an interview with a Club Leader or 4-H Educator or participation in county fair or the appropriate event.

2017 Nomination Form

Nominations to recognize a variety of adults and/or businesses who contribute to the success of Goshen County 4-H:

  • Outstanding Leaders: A 4-H volunteer who has gone above and beyond the normal amount of effort and time. Categories include a Rookie (1-2 years of service) or 2-10 years and More than 10 Years.
  • Friend of 4-H Business: This recognizes a business that has contributed significantly in time, monetary donations, facilities or in other ways to the success of our 4-H program
  • Friend of 4-H, Individual: This recognizes an individual who has contributed significantly to Goshen County 4-H whether financially or in other ways.
  • Outstanding 4-H Alumni: A 4-H alum, from anywhere, who is successful in the community, in their business, have a strong/successful family or are succesful in leadership roles in organizations or government.

The following are youth nominations:

  • Outstanding 4-H Members (Jr. Intermediate and Senior) serve as role models for other members through their Club, county, state and national involvement. Members have a positive attitude and take advantage of 4-H opportunities. Being in the “final drive” or “winners circle” are not a requirement to win these awards.
  • Hard Luck Award: This award identifies a 4-H member who had “hard luck” with their projects this year.
  • Outstanding Club Officer: This award recognizes a youth officer, regardless of position, for their extraordinary leadership efforts.

All nominations can be completed by using the form below and emailing to Megan. Nominations must be received by September 29.

Winners will be announced at the Achievement Program this fall.

Jr. Superintendent Applications

The Youth Show Committee is accepting applications from senior age division 4-H and FFA members interested in volunteering to support Fair Superintendents. Responsibilities include: data entry, publicity and promotion, running, hosting and management of shows, contests and events throughout the Goshen County Fair.

First & Second Year Lamb Program

This fun and educational program is designed to help all first and second year members (regardless of age) learn how to show, raise and care for lambs. The program includes a series of educational lessons and hands-on clinics as well as a special 1st/2nd Year Lamb class which is held during the Goshen County Fair.

Those interested in participation, please plan on attending the first educational session on March 23 at 6 p.m. at Torrington High School, Room 201.

Save your pop tabs!

Rough Riders 4-H Club is collecting Pop Tabs to donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities in Denver. Ronald McDonald House keeps families close to each other and the care they need. You can help Rough Riders 4-H Club by saving pop tabs and dropping them off in the custom built house at the Extension Office. Club members look forward to taking the donation and volunteerism to Ronald McDonald House in Denver soon. They appreciate your help with this project.
