The 2026 Wyoming 4-H State shoot is scheduled to be held in Douglas, Wyoming, July 9 – 12.

Equipment

For your convenience, a list of equipment for each range is below.  Contestants are responsible for bringing any items they need in order to compete during the event.

Air Rifle

Required equipment: Eye protection, ammunition
Optional equipment includes: Shooting mats, kneeling rolls, spotting scopes, and stands or binoculars.

.22 Rifle

Required equipment: Hearing and eye protection; ammunition
Optional equipment includes: Shooting mats, kneeling rolls, spotting scopes, and stands or binoculars.

Air Pistol

Required equipment: Eye protection, ammunition
Optional equipment: Spotting scope or binoculars

.22 Pistol

Required equipment: Hearing and eye protection; ammunition
Optional: Spotting scope or binoculars

Archery

Juniors

  • Required equipment: quiver (bow, back, belt, or ground quiver), arrows (at least 6)
  • Optional equipment: Arm guard, Spotting scope or binoculars, eye protection, you may bring more than 6 arrows as this year you will be shooting on concrete.

Intermediates & Seniors

  • Required equipment: Quiver (bow, back, belt, or ground quiver), arrows (at least 6)

  • Optional equipment: Spotting scope or binoculars; arm guard; eye protection, you may bring more than 6 arrows as this year you will be shooting on concrete.

Shotgun

  • Required equipment: Hearing and eye protection; Factory load ammunition only; Shell bag or vest 

Muzzleloader

  • Required equipment: Hearing and eye protection; Patches; Black powder/synthetic black powder; Balls; Bullets. Caps will be provided for the last time in 2024. (Each county is responsible for appointing an adult leader to cap their shooters muzzleloaders.)
  • Optional equipment: If your muzzleloader needs a certain brand of cap, you must provide your own; Cross sticks
