OVERNIGHT CHAPERONE TRAINING
Overnight Chaperons are important to the delivery of 4-H programs. We want to provide you with the tools, resources, and information you need to be effective leaders. Through this training, we hope that you become better informed and prepared to serve as an overnight chaperon.
SHOOTING SPORTS TRAINING
The Wyoming 4-H Program offers several shooting sports projects and events for its youth members. Adult volunteers are specially trained to teach youth everything they need to know regarding this project area.
- Volunteer Leader Certification
In the spring months, the Shooting Sports Training Committee will be coming to a county near you to conduct a training! If you are a new shooting sports leader or have reached five years since your last training, plan to attend one of these opportunities.- Big Horn County, Basin, WY

Each year volunteer leaders meet to discuss the educational components of the program as well as plan the events mentioned above. The 2026 meeting will be held in Casper on February 21st, 2026, at the Hilton Garden Inn Casper from 10 am to 3 pm. Directions from Douglas. Directions from Riverton. - Competitive Events for Youth
- State Shoot is held each year in Douglas the second week of July. This year, it will be July 9 – 12, 2026.
- Each year, senior-aged members can qualify for and attend an awards trip in Raton, New Mexico. Next year’s trip will be in September 2026.
- Youth interested may submit applications to participate in the National 4-H Shooting Sports Invitational. Next year’s event will be held June 21 – 26, 2026.
