Big Horn Basin 4-H Camp

CAMP INFORMATION

CHAPERONES

Chaperones are needed ‑‑ each 4‑H club must provide one male chaperone for every 7 boys or less and one female chaperone for every 7 girls or less. Chaperones must be screened 4-H leaders.

ACTIVITIES

4‑H Camp activities will begin at 4pm on Thursday evening. Families are invited to stay for this evening meal, however let the Extension Office know if you are planning to stay. We will conclude at 1pm on Sunday.

REGISTRATION

Registration forms and fees must be turned into the Extension Office by June 1st! The fee for camp will be – $50.00 for 4‑H members. This fee includes camp use, riflery, crafts, activities, meals and lots of fun!! Full time youth $70 Full time leaders—$25 Part time—$15 per night. Youth younger than 4-H age—$50 (only includes meals)

Youth under 4-H age will not be allowed to participate in any of the camp workshops. (Cloverbuds are considered under 4-H age) Due to liability issues they must stay under their guardians care while at camp. The permission part of the registration form must be signed by parents in order for members to attend camp. A health form must be filled out to accompany campers. Also, the special riflery permission must be signed if members want to participate in actual shooting (rifles used are .22’s & shotguns).

NOTE:

DO NOT BRING GUNS, these are provided for riflery under strict supervision.

NOTE: Knives must only be used under supervision at the fishing pond!!

FACILITIES

The H<>W Camp is located 18 miles up the Grass Creek Road. Maps are available at your local office. The address is 5481 Grass Creek Road. Campers must stay in camper trailers, or cabins. We do have 4 sleeping cabins. Call to reserve your space in the cabins! Tents are not allowed. There is a bath house with running water for showers and a large lodge for indoor activities and meals.

TRANSPORTATION

Each member must be responsible for finding his or her own ride to camp. It is suggested that clubs arrange for transportation for their members in advance. The registration form has space to indicate who is providing rides to and from camp and this must be filled out!

Warm coat Sleeping Bag & Pillow Flashlight (with batteries) Raincoat & extra shoes Camera, if you wish Changes of Clothes (at least 3) Shooting Eye Protection (if have) Good walking shoes Costume for dance (Theme: Superhero’s) Towel, washcloth, soap Good attitude!!! Toothbrush & personal articles Fishing gear, if you wish Games or sports equipment, if you wish! NO pets!!
