We asked each one of our presenters a series of questions
Below are Mr. Fields’ answers:
Q. What is the highlight of your career?
Answer:
The highlight of my career so far was bringing online the AMD FPGA Cloud for use in the Z Prize international competition.
Q. What are challenges you encounter in your career?
Answer:
A challenge I encounter often is the rapidly changing landscape within the AI verticals that I operate in.
Q. How did you get to this career?
Answer:
When I was 15, my dad gave me several old computers from a school auction so I could build a computer to play games. From there, I taught myself how to build, operate, and use computers, which created my desire for learning everything technology-related.
Q. What is something unique about your career most people might not know or understand about what you do?
Answer:
Most people in the technology field have learned what they know by simply doing it.
Q. What type of education or degrees are required to pursue this career?
Answer:
A strong curiosity, a high risk tolerance, and the ability to self-learn are highly useful traits for this career. Degrees and certifications beyond that are vast and dependent on which type of technology you are interested in. Sometimes skill alone can also be enough.
