Q. What is the highlight of your career?
A. Procuring my first dog to a local agency or having handlers from 10th Special Forces Group attend one of my course.

Q. What are challenges you encounter in your career?
A. There are many challenges.  At 34 years old, I’m still considered very young and there’s many handlers out there with more years with a leash in hand than I. However, age or time in service do not equate to experience. I never want to fail, because if we fail in training, success on the street for my handlers decreases exponentially.

Q. How did you get to this career?
A.  I was employed as a contractor for the US Army as an animal health technician for the Military Working Dog program while residing in Hawaii and I had bonded very quickly with a k9 team that had come back from a deployment – Staff Sergeant Dan Lyon and MWD Zeno.

Q. What is something unique about your career most people might not know or understand about what you do?
A.  I develop dogs through self-discovery. I let them figure out how to earn reward. Self discovery creates activation from me.

Q. Are there scholarship or internship opportunities available with your career? If so, where can more information about those be found?
A.  There are many schools out there and I will be offering internships in the future.
