Q. What is the highlight of your career?
A. The highlight of my career is watching those that I work so hard with become successful.  When a sports team wins a state title, when a class graduates high school, when a student does well on a test, and when a teacher makes a connection with a student, those are my favorite moments.

Q. What are challenges you encounter in your career?
A. I deal with people all day long and no two people are alike.  Students have various needs and addressing those needs can be a challenge that is extremely rewarding.

Q. How did you get to this career?
A. I went to college on a football scholarship and ended up leaving as a teacher and coach.  I then worked on my master’s degree online while I taught, and then worked online again to receive a specialist degree.

Q. Are there scholarship or internship opportunities available with your career? If so, where can more information about those be found?
A. There are opportunities for scholarships in a variety of places.  Many local scholarships are centered around education, and beyond the scholarships if you teach in a high poverty school student loans are forgiven.
