Q. What is the highlight of your career?
A. It was amazing when someone’s face lights up because they feel good about themselves. Also the connection you make with your clients. They become your friends.
Q. What are challenges you encounter in your career?
A. Challenges comes in different aspects. There are small challenges with matching color, styling and/or cutting hair, managing your time. For me biggest challenges are communication.
Q. How did you get to this career?
A.I went to college and wanted to take some cosmo classes on the side, my advisor laughed and asked if I wanted to double major. After my first semester of college, I changed my major and went with it.
Q. Are there scholarship or internship opportunities available with your career? If so, where can more information about those be found?
A. I do believe there may be some internships which would get you in the door, but usually this is in larger shops and does not include hands on training. I went to school at EWC and cosmetology is part of their school. You can earn your AA degree, so there are scholarships for that college.
