Alaska Agricultural Adventure - June 22 - 29, 2027 (tentative dates)

Calling all Wyoming 4-H youth ready for the experience of a lifetime! Join fellow 4-H members from Colorado and Montana on a week-long journey through Alaska’s incredible landscapes, communities, and agricultural operations.

From touring Anchorage and learning about Alaska Native culture, to visiting sled dog mushers in Seward, riding the Alaska Railroad past Denali, and exploring hay farms, dairies, meat processors, and even a yak ranch in the Interior — this trip brings 4-H’s “Do, Reflect, Apply” learning model to life in one of the most unique regions of our country.

This is a rare opportunity to explore agriculture beyond Wyoming’s borders and bring home new perspectives, new skills, and new friendships. Applications and full details coming soon!

What will you learn?

Youth will:

Meet real agricultural producers, researchers, and industry professionals
See how animal science, plant science, food systems, and natural resources projects connect to real-world careers
Experience Alaska’s culture, food systems, and rural communities firsthand
Build leadership, teamwork, and communication skills through a community-based project
Return home ready to share what they’ve learned with their clubs and communities

Chile Cultural Exchange - Summer 2027 (dates TBD)

Calling all Wyoming 4-H youth (ages 15–18) interested in an unforgettable cultural exchange experience! This program pairs Wyoming 4-H members with 4-H youth in Chile for a four-week journey of mutual learning, friendship, and cultural discovery.

How it works:
This is a two-way exchange. Wyoming youth will spend two weeks living with a host family in Chile, experiencing Chilean culture, agriculture, and daily life firsthand. Then, for the second half of the exchange, youth will welcome their Chilean counterpart into their own home for two weeks, sharing what life is like in Wyoming.

Likely summer 2027 — two weeks in Chile, followed by two weeks hosting a Chilean youth in Wyoming
Wyoming 4-H youth, ages 15–18 (younger youth not eligible as this exchange requires a higher level of maturity and independence)
$2,000–$2,500 per youth (Flight: ~$1,000 , Additional transportation: ~$400 , Food: ~$600, Hosting costs: ~$500)
Full 4-week program (travel + hosting)

Spanish fluency is not required, just an open mind, a sense of adventure, and a willingness to welcome someone new into your home and community. Applications and more details coming soon!

What will you learn?

Participants will:

Build lasting friendships and cross-cultural understanding
Experience Chilean culture, family life, and agriculture firsthand
Practice adaptability, independence, and communication in a new environment
Serve as a host and cultural ambassador for a Chilean youth in their own community
Grow leadership and global-citizenship skills valued in both 4-H and beyond
